The Cage is 20yrs old
Hard to believe the years have gone by so fast. What started as a passion ( read : reckless and crazy :) ) project, has now grown into a full blown operation. Our 2 venues hosts a combined total of more than 1m man-hours of sporting activity annually - it blows our mind just thinking about that. Supported by an awesome working team and the best customers in the world, we’re proud to declare that we have a great business going at The Cage. But the best part of it all - we’re still having fun, we still love what we do and we’re still are excited at what the future holds. We’re living a dream!
We Believe that Play is Important
Play isn’t just for kids—it’s for everyone! Whether you're 5 or 95, play helps you stay sharp, happy, and connected. For children, it’s how they learn and grow. For teens and adults, it’s a great stress-buster way to build friendships and creativity. Even older adults benefit—a break from the humdrum of work and family to boost mood and to build a community. Play brings joy and breaks up the daily grind. It keeps life fun, minds active, and spirits high.
We believe that people who Play are different.
People who play regularly are just... different. In the best way! They laugh louder, stress less, and always seem to know how to turn a boring moment into a mini party. While the rest of us are stuck in endless to-do lists, they’re out there turning pillow fights into cardio and board games into bonding sessions. These playful folks are more creative, more relaxed, and way better at charades. They don’t take life too seriously—and that’s their secret superpower. Play keeps their minds sharp, their hearts light, and their spirits young. So if you’ve ever wondered why they always seem to have that spark—yep, it’s the play. We see this species everyday at The Cage. Hang around them long enough, and you just might catch the spark too. Warning: side effects include spontaneous laughter and unexpected fun.
We believe we should try to help ensure everyone can get a chance to Play.
Everything is getting expensive these days. And for us at The Cage, its a bummer that even Play is not spared. So while we champion the importance of Play, we have to recognise that for some among us, Play is inaccessible. This is why we are very previous of our partnerships with charities like RSVP and Shine Children and Youth Services. We have programs in place to help kids from tougher home backgrounds to get a dose of Play every week. The kiddos enjoy a game of football and to be honest, we absolutely love hearing the sounds of joy and laughter from the kids as they play football at The Cage. The programmes have been a blessing and as long as we are able, we’re going to continue with them.
